Using the alesis Wedge
Setting
input / output levels manually
- Press I/O and set inputs and output to
90% using the faders
- Adjust the sound source levels ( probably
the desk's auxiliary outputs ) so the meters read as high as possible
without clipping
Setting
input / output levels automatically
- Hold down the I/O button and press
TAP/AUDITION
- Feed the wedge your signal
- The wedge will listen for 5 seconds
and set input levels accordingly
Selecting
programs
- Pressing PROG toggles between USER and
PRESET programs
- Spin the VALUE wheel to get the
desired program
Editing
effect settings
- Press EDIT/PAGE to get into edit mode
- Use the sliders to alter parameters
- Further presses of the EDIT/PAGE
button reveals more parameter pages
Compare
button
- Pressing the compare button
temporarily restores the program to it's original settings
- Press it again to get back to your
edited version
Storing
your programs
- Press STORE
- Use the VALUE wheel to chose which
entry in the user bank to store it in
- Press A/NAME to name the program
- Use the VALUE wheel, the C/< and
D/> buttons to enter the name
TAP/AUDITION
button
- In program mode this button sends a
click sound to the inputs so you can hear an example of the effect ( most
obvious for reverbs and delays )
- When editing a delay program tap the
button in time to your track and the delay time will adjust to fit the
track
- When editing a delay program hold the
button down and the wedge will try to work the tempo automatically
Dry
defeat
- if you want to
make all the programs 100% wet output ( no original sound ) Press
"UTIL", find page 1 and press "D" until you get "Dry
defeat ON"
